It's Pride Month! #LoveIsLove
What is pride month?
The Stonewall Uprising began June 28, 1969, when New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn – a gay club located in Greenwich Village, New York City. The raid sparked a riot which then transformed into 6 days of protests.
The uprising became a catalyst for an emerging gay rights movement as organizations such as the Gay Liberation Front and the Gay Activists Alliance were formed.
A year later Brenda Howard, a bisexual New York activist nicknamed the "Mother of Pride," organized the first Pride parade to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.
